Prof. David Hodson OBE MCIArb
Prof. David Hodson is a co-founder partner of The International Family Law Group (iflg.uk.com), a specialist law firm representing international families. He is an English solicitor, mediator, arbitrator, Australian (NSW) solicitor, and a deputy (part-time) family court judge at the Central Family Court (DDJ in the FRC at the CFC) in London. He is a member of the English Law Society Family Law Committee, a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers, a member of LawAsia, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, and a similar contributor to many family law organisations around the world.
David is a regular speaker at international family law conferences around the world and was awarded the OBE for services to international family law. He was appointed QC (Hons) in December 2021 by virtue of making a significant impact on the law of England and Wales.
David also serves as the editor and primary author of the LexisNexis textbook ‘The International Family Law Practice’ (6th ed).
He is Visiting Professor at the University of Law and an Honorary Professor of Law at Leicester University and is an Anglican lay preacher.
Camini Kumar MCIArb
Camini Kumar has specialised in family law since she was called to the Bar in 2008. Her practice focuses on the financial consequences of relationship breakdown and private children law. Camini is a qualified arbitrator and available to conduct arbitrations in both financial and children matters and, where appropriate, both together. She sits part-time as a fee-paid judge in the Employment Tribunal and the First-tier Tribunal (Mental Health).
Camini has particular expertise in financial disputes and acts in divorces, cohabitation claims, and applications under Schedule 1 and Part III. Her cases frequently involve cross-jurisdictional assets, businesses, trusts, third-party interventions, and jurisdictional disputes. She also has extensive experience of acting in disputes over arrangements for children, including cases involving domestic abuse and international relocation.
Emma Nash
Emma Nash's practice covers all areas of family law, but she has developed expertise in matters with an international element having spent over four years with a specialist international family law firm prior to joining Fletcher Day in October 2020. In addition to international cases, Emma has worked extensively on complex financial matters including acting for high-net-worth individuals and families, private children’s cases, cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, paternity disputes, and paternity fraud.
Emma has Higher Rights of Audience and can offer a comprehensive service to clients including representation at Court if necessary. She regularly represents clients at court and has appeared at County Court and High Court levels. In 2021, Emma was listed as a recommended family law professional by Spear's 500 and a Top 100 Private Client Lawyer in CityWealth's Leader's List and has recently been made the Head of Family Law at Fletcher Day and heads The Family Law Language Project
Emma is dedicated to delivering an excellent standard of service to clients. She is also passionate about the development of family law and has contributed articles to the Family Law Journal, the International Family Law Journal, and multiple online platforms. Emma writes her own blog 'Emma's Family Law Blog' to encourage debate on important issues and has spoken on Sky News and BBC Radio 4 as a family law expert.
Jo O'Sullivan
Jo O’Sullivan established O’Sullivan Family Law because of her passion for minimising the damage caused by separation and divorce. In her Practice, Jo aims to provide the possibility of a good divorce through her collaborative process, mediation, and negotiated settlements for individuals seeking an alternative to litigation. She believes it is possible to have an 'acrimony-free' divorce and prioritizes the interests of the children in her work.
Jo previously served as Co-Vice Chair of the Resolution Dispute Committee and was appointed to The Law Society Family Law Committee for a period of 3 years ending in 2023. In addition, Jo is the current chair of the East Sussex Resolution Committee and currently runs training workshops for Resolution focused on encouraging and training lawyers across the UK to work collaboratively for the good of their clients and society in general. She helped to form Resolution's Equalities and Diversity and serves as Co-Chair working towards ensuring that family law professionals are allies to the LGBTQ+ community; to increase Diversity in Resolution's membership and to improve the experience of clients who are BAME, disabled or with caring responsibilities.
James Evans, Moderator
James Evans is a Professional Liaison at OurFamilyWizard and is the UK Representative for the programme. Having spent 4 years as a teacher, James joined the Family Law world 3 years ago to introduce Family Law Practitioners around the country to OurFamilyWizard. James works with Courts, Chambers, Firms, CAFCASS, Organisations, and Charities to help parents with their communication. James is also a member of the East Sussex Resolution committee, the Family Dispute Solutions Group, and has partnered with a number of different organisations and groups, including Resolution.
